Pam Houston is a co-founder of the non-profit Writing by Writers. WxW hosts multi-day writing workshops for people interested in writing fiction, nonfiction, memoir and poetry. The workshops are taught by nationally known, published authors, who are adept at teaching the craft of writing to all levels of student. In addition, participants learn how to read others’ work critically and apply those lessons to their own writing.

November 8-11, 2019: WXW manuscript boot camp, lake tahoe, California
The Writing By Writers Manuscript Boot Camp is for the writer who has a full, book-length manuscript (novel, memoir, short story or poetry collection) and would like to engage with a small group for a serious and productive response. The long weekend will include an intimate manuscript workshop, craft talks, readings, an agent panel and individual agent meetings – the perfect pre-publication boot camp for any manuscript. Classes are limited to 5 participants.

april 4-11, 2020: The Story You Have To Tell And How The Physical World Will Help You Tell It: A Prose Writing Workshop at la serrania in mallorca, spain
Join Pam in beautiful Mallorca for an intimate manuscript-based workshop. Participants will critique, write daily exercises, enjoy and get inspired by the local landscape and drink good coffee in the square all while exploring how to set the emotional stakes of a story in the physical world and on the page. june 7-13/19, 2020: WXW Montblanc workshop, chamonix, france
Join Pam Houston for a one or two-week long writing adventure during the Writing by Writers Mont Blanc workshop. Writers will have the opportunity to generate new work, receive manuscript critique, explore Chamonix and hike in the stunning French Alps. The workshop is limited to 12 participants to ensure an intimate setting, plus plenty of time to write and enjoy France. Participants can choose between a one-week option (June 7-13; the first week) or a two-week long workshop (June 7-19).
June 28- july 3, 2020: ESalen writers’ camp, big sur, califoria
Writers take over the entire Esalen campus during this annual workshop. A tradition begun by best-selling author Cheryl Strayed, Writers' Camp leaders Pam Houston and Samantha Dunn bring together nationally known authors and participants at all levels of writing expertise, who together create a supportive, creative, informative, and inspiring week that's designed to ignite – and re-ignite – your passion for the stories you have to tell.
